VIDEO INTERVIEW WITH JUNIOR KELLY (2018) / “Urban Poet is the number one underground album”

Gege Vibes met Junior Kelly in Melkweg, Amsterdam during the event Easter Special Reggaeville (April 2018). Reviewing his last album “Urban Poet” and deepening in the main songs as “I wanna be your hero”, “Everybody needs somebody” or “Power to the people”, we also talked about his charity project called “People helping people” focused in sharing food with poor people on the roads in Jamaica. Ultimately, Jr Kelly invited the youths to don’t lose the spirituality because of the technology.

Interview with Anthony B (2018) : “Reggae is not about death. It is an influential music across many cultures”

We interviewed Anthony B once again in Amsterdam after his show in Melkweg during the Reggaeville Special Easter Event. Waiting for the Original Fyah Man’s new upcoming album and while he is promoting his last two singles “Rub a Dub Party” and “Reggae Soul Sister”, we had the chance to talk with him about different topics : consciousness, unity and the power of reggae as musical genre able to cross every barrier.

“Stop fighting reggae music” official videoclip will be available soon on Youtube. This song is about the real message of reggae. Anthony B told us this music is not about hating or killing people, but it’s something about peace and love. It means to stay together without differences of age, color or race.

Gege Vibes meets this time the veteran Mr Vegas in Salento, Italy. Basicly this interview collects the Mr Vegas best memories and deepens into his rich carreer started around 20 years ago. His music ranged over from the reggae to the dancehall, from the rub a dub to the soca. The artist, winner of Mobo Awards and captivating performer on stages all over the World, explains us that he only try to bring a smile into other people lives . We obviously talk about his homeland Jamaica too.

Video interview with Nadirah X / The jamaican rapper promotes a social benefit campaign to help Africa

We met Nadirah X after her show in Casalabate Music Festival 2017, Salento (Italy). Nadirah aka Nadz is a jamaican female rapper. In 2002 she won the Irie FM / CME Big Break Competition which led to perform at Chris Blackwell’s Island Village where she met Brian Jobson and Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics. Stewart invites Nadz to England where she begins a series of collaborations and productions with some of the most important musicians of the world including Mick Jagger from Rolling Stones, Annie Lennox and Jimmy Cliff.

She writes a part of the official Anthem of Greenpeace. During 2011 she is the leader of “Conspiracy For Good” campaign, a form of social entertainment called “Social Benefit Storytelling”. This campaign produced a contribution to open 5 bookstores in Africa, to give 50 scholarships to african students and to print over 10,000 books for libraries in Zambia through WeGiveBooks.org

Interview with Italee : “Reggae music is love. Love yourself and put yourself first” (Casalabate Music Festival 2017)

 

During the last edition of Casalabate Music Festival 2017 in Salento (South Italy) Gege Vibes met the historical female voice from Jamaica Italee. The reggae veteran explains us how her Jamaican origins and her culture have always been an influence in her music.

She mentions some experiences of her long carreer as the long travels from all over the World and the works in collaborations with Shaggy and Ub40. Italee also produced top artists like Sean Paul, Bounty Killer, Sizzla Kalonji, Elephant Man and many more. The black lioness tell us to keep high the reggae flag everytime and everywhere in the life. Definitely her nice music is about the power of love, the beautiful energy that everyone feels. “Love yourself and put yourself first”, she said to us at the end of the interview.

Il nuovo lyrics video del cantante inglese dalle origini africane Tres è da oggi online sui canali ufficiali. Il singolo, prodotto da Plum Music, aveva raggiunto negli scorsi mesi un discreto successo anche a livello internazionale sul web e nelle radio. Non a caso, qualche ora fa il video in questione è stato pubblicato da Alborosie sul proprio profilo con una nota di apprezzamento verso l’artista stesso. 

Il team Gege Vibes ha incontrato Tres nella Capitale dell’Inghilterra lo scorso inverno nei rinomati Rak Studios. Da subito il giovane talento si è fatto notare per la propria genuinità e per il credere fermamente nel raggiungimento dei propri sogni. La sua storia dal Congo fino a Londra è molto profonda e costellata di episodi emblematici, come l’incontro col Principe Williams, col quale si è poi creato un legame di stima e che racconta nella video intervista allegata.
