Gege Vibes featuring Yah Man Records are proud to present an interesting interview with Sandra Cross, the female icon of the reggae made in Uk. Sandra in fact is extremely famous because of 6 Reggae British Awards that she won during her carreer. Her works with Mad Professor were really important too. In the beautiful venue of Ritzy in Brixton we talked not only about past, but also about future : new album is coming soon with the collaboration of the jamaican duo Sly & Robbie. In the end the artist sang for us “Dancing the night away”, her version on “Express Love Riddim” produced by Morello Selecta from Salento (South Italy).

Il veterano cantante jamaicano Richie Stephens dopo essersi esibito lo scorso anno al Casalabate Music Festival vicino Lecce ha conosciuto i musicisti salentini dei team Adriatic Sound,Bag a Riddim (Official Band Sud Sound System) e la sezione fiati dei Vudz. La sintesi del loro feeling musicale è racchiusa nell’album che hanno prodotto insieme pochi mesi dopo la loro conoscenza. “Internationally” infatti è il primo prodotto discografico di Richie Stephens & the Ska Nation Band, nuovo nome con cui è stato ribattezzato l’ensamble salentino. Abbiamo incontrato Richie Stephens e alcuni membri della Ska Nation : Rankin Lele, Papa Leu e Morello Selecta a Trepuzzi (Le). Gli artisti hanno raccontato ai microfoni di Gege Vibes le proprie impressioni relative all’esperienza così internazionale che stanno vivendo e che unisce due terre come il Salento e la Jamaica nel nome della musica Ska.
Come ci spiega Richie Stephens il termine Ska Nation non indica soltanto un progetto lavorativo, ma si riferisce ad una grande famiglia estesa in tutto il Mondo e che ha a cuore la rivalorizzazione della musica Ska, genere musicale originario e tradizionale della Jamaica. Infatti sono stati molti i musicisti famosi a livello internazionale coinvolti in “Internationally” : da Gentleman a Sean Paul, dai leggendari Sly and Robbie a Kirk Bennett, dal tastierista Lenky agli ambasciatori nostrani del reggae Sud Sound System.

The veteran Jamaican reggae singer Richie Stephens met important musicians from Salento after his performance last summer in Casalabate Music festival (near Lecce, South Italy). He met Adriatic Sound team, Bag a Riddim (Official Band Sud Sound System) and the brass section of Vudz. The synthesis of their musical feeling is contained in the album they have produced together a few months after they met. ” Internationally ” is in fact the first album produced by Richie Stephens & the Ska Nation Band, the new name of this artistic ensemble from Salento .
