Bunny Wailer, last member alive of the historical musical group ‘The Wailers’ is dead few days ago in Kingston. The lost of the beloved singer is so hard to accept for the whole reggae community around the Globe. It seems as an era is ending up now… But we know his legacy will live eternally.

“Reggae Bounce from Jamaica to Europe” is the new mixtape mixed by Dj Pele (Young Pow Production) for Gege Vibes Magazine. Dj Pele is a popular selecter from Jamaica. He developed an early interest in music due to the vast array of Sound Systems which were booked for popular street dancers in the capital city Kingston, Sound Systems such as Killamanjaro, Stone Love, King Addies and more. These sound systems showed him from an early stage in his life what he really wanted to do : a disc jockey like no other, versatile as the best of them, one who could be a Selecta(selector) of good music and a microphone DJ as well, one that can hold the crowd maintaining their interests and energies. Moving to St. Ann he went to work for a sound system as sound engineer.
“My job was to ensure that the sound system was in order and that the boxes were ok. After continuous hard work and practice I was given the chance to play on this sound system’s turn table… I remember being so nervous that I broke the needle, which wasn’t a good start, we were still using records at that time. After this initial fail, I did a pretty good job of impressing the boss by my style of play, after that I guess I was on my way to becoming a sound system selector”, he told.
Dj Pele had spent almost 20 years developing and honing his skills as a disc jockey from the days of records, cassettes, CD’s, Virtual Dj to Serato. He got dubplates from a lot of artists : Stephen Marley, Damian Marley, Vybz Kartel, Popcaan, Sizzla, Romain Virgo and many more. He becomes known as one of the most rounded disc jockey of his generation in Jamaica being comfortable playing different genres of music, different spaces and different crowds.
“Having a diverse knowledge base of different types of music, it has allowed me to become very good at what I do : music is my passion. Being a DJ isn’t just a job to me but is a part of me, it is what makes me who I am, playing music for different people and seeing them having a great time gives me the greatest thrill, knowing that I can make them feel the way they do”, he claimed. There are some news for the Welcome to Jamrock Reggae Cruisers ! The Third Round of Artists for the special 5th Year Anniversary was just announced. In the line up will perform some historical artists as Tarrus Riley, Bounty Killer, Skatalites, Ken Boothe, Horace Andy and Leroy Sibbles. The period of this edition is from Dec 1 to 6 to Jamaica on the Independence Of The Seas. More artists and activity announcements will come soon. If you didn’t check the first and the second round of artists you could do it now.
We’ll find on board all the Bob Marley’s legacy : Ziggy, Stephen, Julian, Ky Mani, Damian. Awesome combination. Other names will be Jah Cure, Chronixx, Agent Sasco and Shenseea.
The first announcements of the line up 2018 were about popular artists as the young talents Jesse Royal, Jah9, Kabaka Pyramid, the dancehall stars Aidonia, Konshens, Elephant Man plus Queen Ifrica and Third World.

Il videoclip è uscito lo scorso marzo ed è stato realizzato interamente in Jamaica, tra Trench Town e Kingston per essere precisi. L’isola è stata la perfetta cornice per questa canzone dedicata alle donne dalla lirica molto sentimentale e al contempo piccante. “Feel at home already”, esclama Pitbull scherzosamente nelle riprese ufficiali alla vista di una tipica bellezza caraibica. The new Damian Marley’s “Stony Hill World Tour” starts today from America, in Minneapolis to be exactly. There will be concerts in the most important cities of the Continent, as New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia and many more. There will be really interesting dates also in Hawaii to continue with the shows in California, in San Francisco and in San Diego. Without forgetting the performances that there will be in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Phoenix. Another big American tour for GongZilla to promote the last album “Stony Hill”, came out from last 21st July.
“Stony Hill” is available in all the shops and digital platforms after a production of twelve years. It is an album of 18 tracks that mix different styles like reggae, dancehall and rap. Damian’s new experiment is a song in historical ballad style called “Autumn Leaves”. The topics of Stony Hill are variegated and everyone could understand the message searching it in the lyrics. One of the most important messages is definitely contained in the hit “Medication” feat. Stephen Marley. In fact the two brothers explain to the World the therapeutic properties of natural cannabis, expelling collective prejudices about the issue. The official videoclip is already online on the YouTube channel of the artist. Other video of “Stony Hill” that is already popular on the web is the ferocious and cool “R.O.A.R”.
So, once again Bob Marley’s youngest son demonstrate his talent and versatility. “Singing was not obligatory for me” – he tells us – “but the love for the music has been like a natural process since I was just a child”.
